I really like the pictures in this book and was looking forward to adding it to my collection. Unfortunately, upon receipt, I discovered that over half of the pages have a large blank line going through them, as if there was a problem during printing. This is just one of the downfalls of online shopping... not being able to physically examine an item before purchasing. I will be returning this item for refund/ exchange.
I was upset with this coloring book, the prints are blurry and the lines are not solid for coloring. I figured since it was a cheaper book that it wouldn't be the best quality but I can't even use a fine point marker to color these in because the lines are so thin and blurry. I would not recommend buying this product if you like your pages to be bold and pretty.
Pages are thin! First adult coloring book purchase - want to encourage my kid to color& get creative. Leading by example is best long term resonation. I did research before deciding & liked her other coloring book images& liked the cover so went w this one despite li,tied reviews by it was so new. Choose this over other options - sorry I did. i also did a little research to learn what coloring methods people most use. For such a coloring book - where lots use gel pens or thin markers I was expecting much more quality thick paper. Paper is thinner then standard printer paper. Thin! Prolly just give to my kid to have some fun with(destroy;). The photos of the elephant page are Zapotec taken from the negative/underside of the paper so NOT the actual front of the picture but through the back. You can. cleary see how thin the pages are! You can see the prints through/lying underneath just as they lay in the book (see monkey pic-can see the image on the next page through it).
The designs are great! The paper is thin, but not exactly weak (feels like it wouldn't rip easily I mean). As long as you put a piece of printer paper or something in between the pages if you're using markers or something that could bleed through, it's not an issue. Inspiring me to get into my artistic side once again a wee bit. =]
Very cool adult coloring book with a huge variety of different animals. Most of the art is very intricate and highly detailed and will keep you busy for HOURS and hours.I don't think kids would do to well with this one for that reason. I use both colored pencils and occasionally acrylic paint and both work well on the paper stock. Sometimes the designs in this book are even a little too intricate, and when I'm not in a mood to be really precise, I use other styles. But the artwork in this coloring book is really amazing and the results when you finish one can be really amazing! I love all the wild animals and foliage :)
Well you get what you pay for. The paper is ultra thin which I suppose is fine, but the printing was done in very low quality similar to old dot matrix printers. You can see the jagged lines in my photos. I didn’t give it a 1-Star because the art is actually very nice. I just wish they were done in higher quality.
Lots of beautiful, quality pages to color. Great detailed designs. Be sure to have your pencils sharpened to a perfect point for the tiny areas!
I have jumped into the adult coloring craze and am really enjoying it. I received this book and the contents are beautiful, but the paper seems pretty thin to me. I believe I will have to reserve it for colored pencils only, as I am skeptical the paper would stand up to watercolor pencils or even gel pens or markers. I haven’t used it yet, so maybe my judgement is premature, but in flipping through the pages, that is my first impression. Just consider carefully your planned medium for use in this one. Beautiful designs, though.
